CELERUS DIAGNOSTICS

Founded in 2004 in Santa Barbara, California, Celerus Diagnostics develops innovative technological solutions that enhance the diagnostic capabilities of anatomic pathology laboratories, provide clinicians with rapid, reliable, actionable diagnostic information, and advance patient care.

After many years working with cancer-patient biopsy samples, and understanding first-hand the needs of testing laboratories and the pathologists who interpret the critical results, the Celerus founders believed a Rapid IHC® (immunohistochemistry) solution, capable of providing results in an efficient, continuous workflow environment was necessary.

The result was the Company's first generation IHC staining system introduced in 2007, the Celerus Wave®.

The Celerus Wave® System altered the industry status quo with its ability to provide IHC test results in just 15 minutes on frozen sections or pretreated paraffin sections. Primarily utilized by breast and MOHs surgeons, critical tissue information was now available during surgery. No longer was it necessary to wait 24-48 hours for pathology test results, and in many cases, the need to return for additional surgery was eliminated. Patients could now leave a clinic with clear knowledge of their condition and, where necessary, a therapeutic plan for the future. The wait, and anxiety of the unknown was removed.

In August 2010, Celerus introduced its second-generation System, the Wave RPD. Building on the success of the Wave, the Wave RPD System opens the door for improved lab efficiency, intraoperative applications, and greater physician and patient benefits. The totally automated Wave RPD System is the fastest, most technologically advanced IHC staining platform in the world today. From beginning to end, deparrafinization to counterstain, the Wave RPD System produces consistent, high-quality IHC stains in about one hour. The Wave RPD System improves patient care and reduces health care costs by delivering actionable diagnostic information efficiently.
